I've never been good at staying on the surface

I've never been
good at staying
on the surface
Anita M. Beijer
For more than four decades I have worked in advertising, creative direction, brand strategy, design, photography and coaching. Across every medium, every decade, every kind of client, I have been drawn to the same thing: the person underneath the work. The story underneath the strategy. The truth underneath the presentation.
I am a brand strategist by training and a brand psychologist by instinct. And because I am also a certified life coach, I understand not just how brands work, but how people work. Brand New Vision™ is what happens when you bring both together. It is the programme I built because I could not find it anywhere else.
What I have seen, across everyone I have ever worked with, is this: most people cannot see themselves clearly. Not because they lack self-awareness, but because it is genuinely impossible to have perspective on something you are standing inside of.
They know they are good at what they do.
They know something is not connecting.
They cannot name the gap.
That gap is exactly what I work with.
Where I come from
I was born in Sweden, but grew up between different worlds. As my father worked in Southeast Asia for much of his career, I spent my early childhood in Burma. At the age of five I went to an English school and English was the language I learned to read, think and dream in. When we moved back to Sweden I carried that with me. The language and the special affection for British culture that has stayed with me ever since.
What I bring with me as a Swede is an independence of spirit, a deep belief in equality, respect for privacy and integrity, an instinctive discomfort with boasting, and a love of simplicity and quality.
These two heritages, the English and the Swedish, are not in conflict with each other. They are both, the reason why I do this work the way I do it.

On trust
I have spent more than twenty years working with Stiftelsen Silviahemmet, Queen Silvia of Sweden’s foundation for dementia care.
I was chosen to create the brand identity for the Swedish Dementia Centre, a project of national significance, and Queen Silvia unveiled the logo I designed at its official inauguration.
I subsequently worked closely alongside the Queen in the development of SilviaBo®, a pioneering housing concept for people living with dementia.
I tell you this not to impress. I tell you this because it says something about how I work. I was trusted with something that mattered deeply to people who care deeply.
That quality of trust is what I bring to every client relationship I have.

Why I do this
I created Brand Energy™ because I wanted people to understand the emotional signature they carry. The energy people feel before they know why. I created Brand New Vision™ because I wanted to offer a complete process, not just a moment of clarity.
And I created the Become The One Summit because I believe that the conversation about what makes humans irreplaceable is the most important conversation in business right now.
I do this work because I have spent a lifetime watching people change the trajectories of their lives the moment they finally see themselves clearly. It happens in a single session, sometimes. A recognition. Something named that had never been named. I have seen people leave a conversation different from how they arrived.
That is not a small thing. It is, I think, everything.
I believe you are already more than you think. You just need someone to help you see it.

Who I work with
I work with coaches, consultants and creators who know they are good at what they do, and know something still isn't connecting. People who are ready to build something from the inside out.
If that's you, you're in the right place.

Why this matters now more than ever
We are living through a moment that changes everything about how trust is built online.
AI can produce unlimited content. It can mimic messaging, generate visuals, and replicate strategy at scale. What it cannot produce is presence. The specific, unrepeatable combination of your story, your energy, and the meaning you bring to your work. The things people pick up about you.
And as the online world floods with content that looks right but feels generic, that human quality has become the only thing that genuinely cuts through. Clients are no longer looking for the most impressive brand. They are looking for the most real one.
Your brand is not your website, your logo, or your colour palette. It is your energy. Your story. The emotional resonance that makes the right people feel, before they have read a single word, that they have found someone who understands them.
When you learn to express that with intention, everything changes.

I said earlier that I have never been good at staying on the surface
This instinct has taken me further than I sometimes planned. After close to a decade running my own interior design business and working at IKEA Communication, I sold my home and spent seven months travelling the world alone on my own project. Visiting remarkable homes, staying with the people who lived in them, for a book that would become Home Life Around the World.
I left for the homes.
What I came home with, and what was closest to my heart, were the people. The conversations we had. The stories they shared. The shared meals. Their families and friends. They were the real discovery.
Complete strangers, in their own homes, who knew nothing about me. And yet every single one of them opened their door.
I photographed all of it myself. One lens, natural light, no assistant. Never knowing from one day to the next whether I would walk into fifteen square metres or a house with seven-metre ceilings. I had no formal training as a photographer, only a crash course, years of working alongside professionals at IKEA, and a lifetime of working with images. One of those photographs was later published in a prestigious art book about famous people’s homes.
I think about that often. Not the publication. The trust.
