The Secret Way to Live Better

In this post-2020 world, we yearn for a deeper form of connection, understanding and relatedness. We have a deep longing to rest and to feel safe again, to reset and enter consciously into the next phase. Something has fallen away that we will never be able to return to, but the exact nature of what’s coming next has yet to be given. Let’s re-conceive the world from our own consciousness. Here are some ways to do this.
Understanding what is important
Take some time to think about your values. Have they changed over the past year?
If a goal is in line with our values, we find the energy and motivation that lead us toward it. When we have a better understanding of our values, craft our goals in line with them, and address some of the other key areas listed here, we are rewarded with the energy and motivation to make them happen more easily.
Optimise the use of our time
To optimise our time on and towards what we want, we must first gain a greater insight into what matters to us and why they are important. How do you spend your time? Are you aware of the activities that distract you and waste your time, things that drains your energy, activities that you do because you feel obligated to do them, things that you do even though they are not your responsibility, and things that really are important and that you need to focus on? At the end of the day, we only have 3 resources: physical and mental energy, time, and money. It’s key that we learn how to make optimal use of them.
Meet challenges as opportunities
No amount of planning is going to cater for every eventuality. Many consider these unplanned events are problems that prevent progress and give up when something unforeseen happens. Those who succeed are not discouraged by them but see opportunities instead. With the right mindset the journey can be viewed as one opportunity after another to reinforce the ability to succeed.
Use your creativity
All human beings are blessed with incredibly powerful imagination. How often do you just sit and allow yourself to imagine what life can look like? However, our imagined outcomes for the future are mostly based on past experiences. How can we create something new, if we continue to both think and repeat the same actions we have done in the past? To truly reset and recreate life, we must use our imagination and think in a new way. Use your heart and paint the canvas with broader strokes and colours. Dream bigger and wilder than you have ever done before and believe that anything is possible. How will this change your life to the better? How will it benefit someone else's life?
Banish limiting beliefs
Many people have negative perceptions about what’s possible. They wonder if they will ever accomplish anything, or if the dreams they have are achievable. Try to release beliefs like these and any self-sabotaging tendencies. We are fortunately not born with our beliefs and those we develop through childhood and into the present can change. Remember, you are not your beliefs and thoughts, so don’t let limiting beliefs hold you back.
Start with what you have now
All beginnings start with awareness and taking daily note of thoughts, habits and beliefs is a good way to begin to create change. Implement these reflections into your daily routine. Be patient and compassionate with yourself and your progress. Let’s remember that miracles occur naturally as expressions of love, and when our love is great enough - deep enough and high enough - then everything that’s so painful now will transform into something new. So, love yourself every day a little more than you did the day before.
